Journalist and ultra runner, Rod Ardehali, put his grit and endurance to the test in the desert at the Marathon des Sables 120km edition in Morocco last October.
Rod has written a detailed review of the gear he took with him, including helpful tips and suggestions, perhaps none so pertinent as: "Every item has to justify its place – not just in terms of weight, but also morale.". This message struck a chord with the Expedition Foods team, this is our mission, to ALWAYS make sure that Expedition Foods meals justify their place in your pack.
How do Expedition Foods do this?
We'll keep working to always be at the top of our game and make sure that you, our customers and friends, are always our priority.

As the Gobi March draws closer, we reconnect with Bazar in the mountains of western Mongolia. His training has become more focused, his gear choices more deliberate, and his connection to the land even more central to how he prepares. From long runs at altitude to traditional high‑fat foods and life in a ger, Bazar’s journey shows how endurance is shaped not just by training plans, but by culture, environment, and resilience.
